"Dr. Megan is such an incredible physical therapist and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for PT!! I first went to see her a couple of months postpartum. She is super knowledgeable and taught me a lot each session. She is very focused on helping you return to all activities that are meaningful for you. She really helped me to reconnect with my core with pelvic health physical therapy and taught me how to activate it correctly with all movements. I also had a lot of upper back pain with all of the baby carrying/wearing and nursing, and she made a big difference in my back pain as well, teaching me how to improve my movement patterns and baby wearing techniques to improve the pain. She really helped with my postpartum recovery and I am so grateful for her!!"

"After the birth of my second daughter, I went to Dr. Megan for pelvic floor PT and it’s been a game changer. She helped me feel stronger and more confident postpartum, and I’ve noticed a huge difference in my CrossFit workouts too. She breaks down therapy into simple terms that was extremely easy to pick up and apply in the gym. I can’t recommend her enough!"

"I love seeing Megan at RecoverRx! She is an expert at helping me manage my EDS and understand my body. I had worked with Megan after my first pregnancy to deal with my postpartum pelvic floor. I am currently 36 weeks pregnant and have been seeing her for the greater part of this pregnancy and I am stronger than I have ever been. She is so adept at helping strengthen my pelvic floor as well as figuring out how to appropriately build strength and stability (and proprioception) with Ehlers Danlos. It helps that our sessions together are full of laughter and so much fun. Highly recommend seeing Megan for help with your pelvic floor, pregnancy and postpartum, as well as EDS."

RecoverRx Performance Physical Therapy Approach

  1. We’ll take you through a comprehensive external assessment of your mobility, strength, and functional movement patterns. This will allow us to identify underlying issues and come up with a treatment plan to get you back to full speed and strength. (No doctor’s order necessary).
  2. We offer an individualized treatment program tailored to your specific needs. Our quality 1-on-1 care and attention will provide you with manual techniques to improve tissue mobility and decrease pain, and education on strategies to coordinate healthy bladder, bowel, and pelvic habits with your daily activities.
  3. With an activity specific strength training program, we’ll get you back on track to return to the activities and sports you love. And we will advance your strength, mobility and performance training so you can really own it and feel confident in doing what you want to do. All while teaching you how to prevent that issue from happening again.

Important Things To Understand

  1. Tissues Heal. The body is designed to repair itself, but sometimes our system gets stuck in the inflammatory phase of tissue repair and needs a little help to move onto the recovery phase
  2. The true source of pain is often poorly correlated with x-ray and MRI imaging results. It is possible to have tissue damage on imaging that causes no pain or functional limitations. And it is possible to have pain with no visible findings on imaging – usually a result of nervous tissue over sensitivity.
  3. Soreness after exercise is not the goal, but it is also not always a sign of concern. True strength gains require an overload to the system which causes micro-damage. As that tissue recovers, it does so thicker and stronger than before. Soreness should be used as a way to monitor if the tissue is ready to take on more load, should stay at the current level, or should back down training intensity until the tissue is more prepared.
  4. Return to previous/desired activities is almost always possible through good education, proper mechanics, and progressive tissue loading.

“Luke did a fabulous job helping me rehab my rotator shoulder injury! He was so flexible on schedule with my work and travel and really exceeding all my expectations on the PT I got. I have had other issues like a knee repair procedure and had to live with middle of the day scheduling and standard canned approaches. Luke took the time with he and gave me the customized exercises I needed, worked with me on my lifting form to avoid future injuries, and did a variety of dry needle and other manipulation therapies that were very effective. I am back lifting and am really pleased with my progress! My knee had a short-term aggravation that he solved too during my other PT work which avoided more appointments and time challenges. I whole heartedly recommend Luke and his clinic for PT! Thank you so much, Luke! Great Work!”

“Dr. David Bokermann was amazing to work with. I was referred to RecoverRX by a close friend because I was having a lot of shoulder pain. At one point I was having trouble just being able to put on deodorant because the pain was so bad. I though for sure that I was going to need to have surgery. I just figured I was getting old and all of the abuse that I put my arm through in my youth was catching up to me. Dr. David explained that I wasn’t going to need surgery and that what I had was a muscle imbalance. I signed up for 10 sessions with him and I am happy to say that I am pain free again. I would highly recommend them to anyone.”
